Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Plot Summary: Two brothers lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of "alchemy", they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails, and as a toll for using this type of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs - "automail" - to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher's Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses his/her alchemy for the military.

Plot Summary: Throughout the passage of time and the shifts in backgrounds, a particular war continues to leave its mark on history, extending its influence into the modern world. There are two major groups involved in the ensuring war. The first group consists of monsters known as Chiropterans who can change their appearances into that of human beings. They are actually immortals who feed on the blood of the living. The second group is an organisation known as the "Red Shield", formed to track down these monsters and exterminate them. Otonashi Saya is a high-school girl who lives a peaceful life with her family. The only problem is, she has no recollections of her life beyond that of the past year. However, her happy life will be destroyed by an event that will lead her to her destined fate.

Hayate no Gotoku

Plot Summary: Abandoned by his parents and given a monumentally large debt as a Christmas present, 16-year old Ayasaki Hayate is at the lowest point of his life. Desperately trying alter his hapless fate, he decides to kidnap someone to hold for a ransom. Due to an ill choice of words, the girl he tries to kidnap misunderstands the action as a confession of love. His plan is totally crushed when he gives his real name out. Realizing his wrongdoing, Hayate proceeds to rescue the girl from the yakuza, who had instead kidnapped her. The girl, as a token of thanks, offers Hayate a job as her butler. Hayate, overwhelmed by her kindness, vows to protect her even at the cost of his life.

Personal Thoughts: In the 1st season, you can see some of the characters from other anime like Inuyasha, Conan, Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess and etc appeared in this anime. Overall, it is quite a funny comedy genre of anime, good for laughing.

Critics & Comments: In my opinion, some other character like Hinagiku appeared too much in the 2nd season anime, and it is like turning the anime from a butler story to love and romantic story.

Plot Summary: Ippo, a timid highschooler, is one day saved from being beaten up by Takamura, a boxer. Enthralled by Takamura's skills Ippo begins to learn boxing, soon finding love for the sport and a drive to challenge the boxing world.

Personal Thoughts: Eventhough real boxing is quite a boring program for me, but it's completely different in this anime, as the characters; like Ippo, are learning hard to archive his aim, which is the national championship; Takamura, are suffering from straving in order to get himself in the middle weight championship match.

D.Gray Man [ディー・グレイマン]

Plot Summary: Allen Walker, a young man with a cursed eye, lives to destroy a weapon known as Akuma. These weapons created by the Milleneum Earl are sent out by his command to purge the world from humans. Allen Walker uses an anti-akuma weapon, Innocence, to counter the Earl's attempts at destroying humanity. He travels to the Black Order by his mentor's directions. There he meets with others who also fight against the Milleneum Earl's plans. But more questions start to appear as Allen and his friends move further along to reach their goal. And these questions that seem to connect to Allen's past.

Personal Thoughts: Lavi, one of my favorite characters in the anime, is a cheerful 18-year old, red-haired Exorcist of mixed race. He aims to become a Bookman, a person who records the hidden history of the world and has been trained from a young age to achieve that goal. In my opinion, I hope to see more powerful skills and weapons in the story.

Critics & Comments: The anime discontinued after 2nd season, but the story is still on going.

Gintama [銀魂]

Plot Summary: Edo-period at Japan suffers a big cultural shock. First, the aliens invaded the earth, overpowered the nation’s government, disbanded carrying swords for the once proud samurais. moreover; these aliens took the people’ jobs and are currently running a sweatshop using them as laborers. going with the flow, Sakata Gintoki, an enigmatic vagrant samurai whose personal trademark is not only his naturally permed silver hair but also his love of anything sweet and addiction Shounen Jump is making a life out of this chaotic era. He is self employed in a do-it-all shop named Yoruzuya Gin-chan who offers any job for any amount of money. Their jobs range from searching lost kittens and saving the world.

Personal Thoughts: Personally prefer Shinsengumi members like Hijikata Toushirou, and Okita Sougo than the other characters in the anime. This anime can be very exciting; can be very lame; can be very bored, it's all depend on the mood of the producer.

Critics & Comments: It's better to have Shinpachi "shut up", he is quite noisy in the anime sometimes.

Hell Girl [地獄少女]

Plot Summary: Somewhere in the vast sea of the Internet, there's a website that can only be accessed at the stroke of midnight. Known as the Jigoku Tsushin, rumor has it that if you post a grudge there, the Jigoku Shoujo will appear and drag whoever torments you into the inferno. But, you will also be sent into the hell after you died. Very little is known about the girl - all we know for sure is that she lives with her equally enigmatic grandmother, that three magical straw dolls accompany and serve her (4-5 companions in Jigoku Shoujo 3), and that whenever a posting on the Jigoku Tsushin moves her, she becomes the Jigoku Shoujo.

Personal Thoughts: Jigoku Shojou is not a good nor bad person, she just alive to revenge for those who suffered. But, she is getting more and more aggresive when the story progress. In 1st season, she helped only good person, but starting 2 and 3, she helps whoever wants to revenge no matter how good nor bad he/she is.

Critics & Comments: All the quotes & moves are the same in every episodes.... 闇に惑いし哀れな影よ｡人を傷つけ貶めて｡罪に溺れし業の魂｡いっぺん､死んでみる?

Recommendation: Recommend for those who are 18 and above, contain a little bit of nudity and horror scene.
